Winter wine lunch with Turley.

We are just finishing a delightful afternoon with Tegan and Nick from Turley Wine Cellars. The lunch goers had a delicious time. The most consumed wine of the day, Judge Bell Zinfandel. The photo is of the pairing with the Zin. Juniper smoked duck with blood orange.
When you have a petite Sirah for the dessert dish with that much complexity and depth you can’t do too much on the sweet side. Fennel was the key to this pairing today. Keeping the caramel and chocolate decadence in balance. It was almost refreshing. These luncheons have been so much fun. Looking forward to Bokisch Vineyards next week.
