In Northern California we have been waiting for rain all year long, much of that time in vain. Now the rain has arrived it just doesn’t seem like enough.
The Culinary Staff has a work board in the kitchen where they write down ideas for menu items. Currently, that board is bring used for a garden planner. Each cook has at least three produce items written under their name. It is their choice what to write. They need to research the items, determine the best planting time and then get things growing! Many of the cooks are new to gardening. This is a fun process to watch them work through.
I just hope the rain will stay steady and we’ll be able to have a garden this summer. It’s fulfilling to watch a garden grow. It’s success when you watch your staff grow.
